6 Fracture Zones‌

Zones of fracture types listed in Figure 2 are detailed below, beginning with joint zones (Figure 13) and continuing with deformation band zones and fault zones.

Figure 13 – Joint zones or clusters at Entrada Sandstone, Arches National Park, Utah, USA. a) A joint zone of about 60 to 80 cm in width including several single joints with spacing considerably narrower than that between the zone and the nearest joints on either side of the zone. b) Localization of joints adjacent to high-angle small faults.
